Curriculum Development Unit
CNSG's Curriculum Development Unit - Description
As eCommerce
technology, skill and knowledge constantly and rapidly change,
training and retraining of the relevant workforce will be critical
to keep pace with the change. In the foreseeable future, there
will also arise a need for constant testing, evaluation and
benchmarking of available eCommerce skills. CNSG Curriculum Development Unit will provide
courses that will flexibly and speedily respond to meet the
market demand and changing needs. IOeC will not only focus on
local and classroom-based eCommerce training and education,
but on-line and cyberspace learning. The faculty will be people
in the thick of these changes, practitioners whose knowledge
will be current and cutting edge. It can offer a repository
of successful eCommerce case studies and methodologies and make
it available.
CNSG Curriculum Development Unit, via
its collaboration with local/overseas institution and industry
players will issue certification for eCommerce skills and knowledge. CNSG Curriculum Development Unit will double up as an eCommerce research centre and think
tank for students, academics and practitioners to conduct and
coordinate IT research.
CNSG Curriculum Development Unit is
working with Higher Learning Institutions in Singapore on the possibility of 'exporting' its courses
curriculum to institutes of higher learning in emerging economies like Bahrain,
Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Maldives and Pakistan.
Lecturers and Professors from institutions of these countries will be trained in
the course materials based on the Higher Learning Institution's curriculum for 4 weeks in Singapore as part of
the overall packages. If keen, CNSG Curriculum Development
Unit, and Higher Learning Institutions may want to work out the potential of JV arrangements into this
education venture with most of the risk being borned by the industry. This may end up with Singapore's
Higher Learning Institutions becoming the top enabler/seeder for curriculum
proliferation regionally.
