Industry Dialogue with IPOS
Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and
CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) organised a close door 'Industry

to a healthy development of IP market and the relevance of Singapore as an IP
Hub. The dialogue also addressed the need to create a viable IP community
that can leverage IP as a core competency for business. This meant
putting more emphasis on innovation, research and development, IP protection of
new ideas, products and technologies. These emphasis are increasingly critical
to companies and individuals, particularly when they can gain commercially from
their intellectual capital. The dialogue allowed IPOS to augment its reach
and increases instant feedback channel from focused groups pertaining to IP
issues and problems within Singapore, a move necessary for continued vibrancy of
our IP industry.
This dialogue offered an excellent platform to explore,
exchange views, hear first hand the fundamental concerns on some of the key
policies, seek clarifications and provide direct feedback to IPOS on sector
needs and assistance requirements. Professor Hang Chang Chieh,
Chairman of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore spoke
