CEO of EDB Bahrain Visits
Singapore
Mr. Jamal A. Al-Hazeem, CEO of EDB, Kingdom of Bahrain visited Singapore on the 13 to 14th February 2003. CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) planned an itinerary for Mr.Jamal to visit CNSG board members and key business partners of CNSG. During his visit, Mr.Jamal met Mr.Wong Peng Wai, Director of Enterprise Ecosystem Development, EDB Singapore. Mr.Jamal was briefed on the various strategies that EDB Singapore has carried out to sustain Singapore as a compelling global hub for business and investment. Mr. Jamal also visited the Phase Z.Ro Technopreneur Park with the CEO of CNSG, Mr.Wong Jeh Shyan and the Operations Manager of CNSG, Mr.Ramesh Vakiprath. Phase Z.Ro Technopreneur Park is the precursor to a 194-ha science hub project in which JTC is the master developer. The aim of this hub is to create a vibrant technopreneurial community that is constantly rejuvenating, buzzing with innovative energy and fun. Mr. Jamal was received by BG (NS) Philip Su, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, JTC Corporation. BG Su stated that One-North is focussing on biomedical sciences, Infocomm Technology and media industries.
BG Su also briefed the delegation on the three industry clusters which are Life Xchange, Central Xchange and Xchange Square. The Life Xchange stated BG Su includes the Biopolis which comprises of a dynamic mix of public research institutes and private companies.
The Xchange Square will consist of offices, hotels, shops, entertainment, convention facilities, corporate retreat villas, artists village which will combine to create the buzz and excitement of 24/7 city centre living. |
