CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG), iGINE, Deloitte Consulting, Sun Microsystems
and ECS organised a Breakfast Forum on Tuesday, 29 Jan 2002 at the Hotel
Inter-Continental, Singapore. The theme for the Forum was "Increasing
Channel Profitability through Consumer Centric eCommerce". About 60 participants attended the forum.
Global competition and rapid growth in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry
have been driving the need for companies to strengthen their extended
relationships with their Partners to meet the dynamic demands of the consumers.
Senior executives from Deloitte Consulting, Sun Microsystems, as well
as iGINE enlivened the event by sharing their thoughts on market trends,
and the convergence of technology and best practices in the Consumer Packaged
Goods (CPG) industry. A case study was presented. This involved a biomedical
supplies company that reaped significant cost savings in adopting a solution
that helped manage the order flow across 5 tiers of channel partners and
enjoying an ROI of over 300%.
Ms Aileen Cross from Deloitte Consulting spoke on "Market Trends
and Demand-Supply Chain Opportunities in the Consumer Goods Industry".
The next speaker mr Brendan Wong, Industry Sales Director, CPG, Retail
& Distribution, Sun Microsystems Asia South discussed "The IT Edge for
Consumer Goods Industry". The last speaker Mr Tan Chang Huong, CEO, iGINE
Pte Ltd spoke on "Increasing Channel Profitability in Your Multi-Tier
Multi-Channel Network & a Customer Case Study"
