 [ 11-15 December 2000 ] CommerceNet Singapore's ITCN Asia 2001 Working Committee Visits Karachi

CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) sent the ITCN Asia 2001 working committee to Karachi to visit the exposition halls, hotels and logistic arrangements. CNSG's Events Manager, Ms. Angelina Tan, led the delegation.

The team visited and interviewed local contractors, suppliers, travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, caterers, printers, transport companies to narrow down and select some of the better quality and viable arrangements to ensure that ITCN Asia 2001 can be a successful event.

Meetings with the ITCN Asia 2001 Steering Committee was also held at Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi. The meeting outlines various parties' responsibilities, including media releases and protocols. Security arrangement and crowd control measures were discussed in detail. Volunteers' selection and arrangements will be finalised at the next meeting to be held in January.

For many of the working committee members, this was their first trip to Karachi. They left Karachi confident and happy with the infrastructure and proposed arrangements.
