[ 28 May 2000 ] Infrastructure for the Internet Economy: Getting It Right The First Time
Mr. Mallick Pushpasish, the Regional Manager, E-Business of EMC South Asia shares his business perspective in ensuring customers' E-Business initiatives are well planned and executed. Speaking at the breakfast talk organised by CommerceNet Singapore at Mandarin Hotel, he observed that most e-Commerce initiatives in Asia are still used as a passive, multimedia-based shop-front on the web. There is significant inertia to leverage the Internet for revenue generating opportunities. The real threat of international competition shakes the viability of local companies, where the competitors move at Internet speed. To fully leverage e-business for financial success, putting the right infrastructure in place the once, not the second or third time, is critical. In this presentation, Mr. Mallick cites some of the challenges & criteria for success and shares experiences of successful e-Business initiatives from around the world. |
